While million gamers hope that Rockstar will release its GTA
IV for PC, the company seems to have no plans about it. At least for the
moment.
There were various rumors about a PC versions reported by
the gaming media, but today after the successful launch of the game, the
British gaming site CVG has
decided to solve the mystery once for all.
They politely asked Rockstar what are their plans for the PC
fans, but the company declined to comment on the rumors.
According to the rumors, the PC version was scheduled to
arrive until the end of the year, but in the light of Rockstar’s recent response,
nothing is sure.
In the meantime, everyone is trying to guess how many units
of GTA IV were sold during its first day of availability.
Rockstar declined to comment also on this issue and the
rumors and estimations keep pouring in.
So far, ChartTrack, a British company that tracks gaming
sales has revealed that GTA IV has sold 609,000 units during the first day on
both gaming platforms, Xbox 360 and PS3.
VG Chartz, a gaming site that also tracks the game sales,
has announced that
according to its estimations GTA IV sold 2,5 million units in Americas in its
first day. The site also said the game sold roughly at a 6:4 ratio in favor of
Xbox 360 to PS3.
As of now no official source, including Rockstar or the NPD
Group, has released any figures, Microsoft and Sony are caught in a war of statements.
Official from both companies have said in the past hours the retailers have
reported increased sales of the both consoles, but it’s unclear if Xbox 360 has
managed to surpass PS3.
It remains to be seen if Rockstar will officially announce
any figures next week, but until now let’s hope that Microsoft or Sony will
release some details about their sales.
