Rob Lowe sued two of his former nannies and his former chef on Monday in a Los Angeles court.

The actor accused one of his former nannies of trying to extort $1.5 million from him and his wife. The nanny, Laura Boyce, allegedly attempted “to damage and humiliate" his family and worked together with the two other employees on this scheme.

Lowe said the nanny "betrayed their trust" and spread "malicious lies".

In a 26-page complaint, Rowe accused the ex-nanny of trying to seduce him and then accuse him of infidelity. She allegedly repeatedly expressed her romantic interest in Lowe and told people that “she wished he would divorce Sheryl Lowe."

Boyce was also accused of claiming that Lowe sexually harassed her and his wife, Sheryl, gave her a hard time as an employer and made "inappropriate comments of a sexual and racial nature" to her.

In a separate 19-page complaint, Lowe accused his former chef of having sex on their bed "with third parties" when they weren’t home. He also allegedly stole prescription drugs from their medicine cabinet and gave them to others, broke security cameras and told various people that Sheryl Lowe was heartless, cold and "unclean."

Finally, the third nanny who stands accused in the lawsuit has allegedly tried to hurt the couple by spreading "malicious lies" about them.

On Monday, Lowe posted a message on the Huffington Post website, saying that his former nanny asked $1.5 million from him and his wife under the threat that she would accuse them both of “a vicious laundry list of false terribles."

"My family is devastated at this betrayal," Lowe wrote. "We will defend ourselves with vigour and without fear."

Laura Boyce, who was hired to take care of Lowe’s two sons, now faces charges of violating a confidentiality agreement, defamation and infliction of emotional distress. The court papers state that the ex-nanny "engaged in a scheme to hurt the Lowes".

Lowe's recent screen success projects include The West Wing and Brothers and Sisters.
