Amid reunion rumors of battered Rihanna and alleged aggressor Chris Brown, Rihanna's father released a statement saying he's one hundred percent behind his daughter's decision to get back together with Brown.
"Whatever road she chooses, I'm behind her," Ronald Fenty told People magazine when reached by telephone on Barbados.
His 21-year-old daughter reportedly forgave Chris Brown, who allegedly attacked her on February 8, leaving her bruised and unconscious in their rented car. According to RadarOnline.com, the two are working through their issues on Star Island, reportedly at one of Sean "Diddy" Combs' homes.
Brown was photographed jetskiing in Miami on Thursday while sources claim him and Rihanna care a great deal about each other and are "definitely together." Rihanna reportedly flew back from Mexico where she had taken some time off following her birthday.
Fenty said he hasn't spoken to his daughter since earlier this month, for her 21st birthday, and only found out about the reconciliation through the media.
"We are a family who stick together even though we are apart," Fenty said. "I love my daughter with whatever road she takes. I'm behind her win or lose. I will be supportive. If that's the road she wants to choose, I'm behind her. I hope to see her soon. I talked to her after her birthday, and she told me she's OK," he added.
In the meantime, the Los Angeles County district attorney is still considering whether to file charges over the Feb. 8 incident. A photo of the "Umbrella" singer leaked onto the Internet last week, sparking an internal LAPD investigation into how it became public. Both singers skipped scheduled appearances at the Grammy Awards that day.
