Rihanna’s dad is very disappointed in the way the LAPD handled the domestic violence case of his little daughter, whose 21 birthday is today, by the way.

“Sloppy work on their part,” Ronald Fenty told People magazine Friday. The singer’s father was referring to the leaked photo showing her daughter with face bruises and injuries from the supposed assault from her boyfriend Chris Brown.

The picture shows a woman with several injuries to her face. Her eyes are closed and she has bruises on her forehead, cuts on her lips and on her cheeks. People magazine said it chose not the post the photo because of the delicate nature of this case. The photo allegedly shows Rihanna shortly after she took the supposed beating from her boyfriend.

In an interview with UsMagazine.com, Rihanna’s father described the photo as "terrible."

"It's disturbing," Fenty told the magazine.

He added that there is also a good side of this photo leak. Mr. Fenty said all those who did not believe that his daughter’s case was in fact that bad, now had the chance to convince themselves of the opposite.

The picture was posted on the Internet Thursday night and the LAPD immediately launched an investigation into the case. The LAPD Media Relations Section received numerous inquiries about the release of the photograph, said the police department in a statement.

The police statement and the interview of the singer’s father confirm, to some extent, the fact that the photo is actually of Rihanna.

The singer’s 19-year-old boyfriend was arrested on a felony criminal threat charge February 8.
