John Edwards explained in an interview recently that he
definitely didn’t have a baby with his former mistress, Rielle Hunter. "I
am and have been willing to take any test necessary to establish the fact that
I am not the father of any baby, and I am truly hopeful that a test will be
done so this fact can be definitively established," Edwards said.
Hunter however refused to involve her child in any kind of
DNA test. In a statement issued through her attorney, Hunter said she wanted to
maintain her privacy and that of her 6-month old daughter.
"I know that it's not possible that this child could be
mine because of the timing of events," Edwards told Bob Woodruff of ABC
News on Friday.
John Edwards, the former Democratic presidential candidate,
admitted he had an affair with film maker Rielle Hunter, who worked on his
campaign back in 2006. Edwards admitted he had made a terrible mistake and
explained how sorry he was for the harm he caused his wife. He confessed all
this in an interview with Bob Woodruff for ABC's Nightline on Friday.
His admitting that may lead to a collapse of his political
ambitions including his hope of becoming attorney-general in a Barack Obama
administration.
Rielle Hunter's lawyer, Robert Gordon, says his client is a
private individual who wishes to maintain the privacy of herself and her
daughter. Hunter's daughter, Frances Quinn Hunter, was born on Feb. 27 this
year. The birth certificate was filed in California
and according to it the little girl has no father.
