Ridley Scott and Leonardo DiCaprio Reunite

Academy Award nominees Ridley Scott and Leonardo DiCaprio are re-teaming for a thriller titled “The Low Dwellers,” based on a sought after script from first-time writer Brad Ingelsby.

The story is set in 1980s Indiana and centers on a man who has been released from jail and tries to make a life for himself among others once more, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

His attempt at normalcy is hindered though by someone from his past who wants to settle a score. A third male character as well as a love interest are also prominently featured in the story.

DiCaprio is attached to portray the ex-convict while Scott may direct the film. Both are producing the project.

The script was penned by first-time writer Brad Ingelsby, who works as an insurance salesman in Pennsylvania and put the story together in his spare time. It was at the center of some passionate bidding from Warner Bros. and Sony Pictures, among others.

Ryan Kavanaugh's Relativity Media acquired the project for mid-six figures, per the Hollywood Reporter.

Should all pieces fall into place, this would be the second collaboration between DiCaprio and Scott. The two have just finished filming geopolitical thriller “Body of Lies” for Warner Bros.

The film is based on the novel of the same name by David Ignatius and co-stars Russell Crowe. It is scheduled to be released in the United States on October 10.

DiCaprio’s next project is Martin Scorsese’s period thriller “Shutter Island,” a co-production between Columbia Pictures and Paramount Pictures. The cast includes Ben Kingsley, Mark Ruffalo, Emily Mortimer and Michelle Williams.

Scott is currently working on “Nottingham,” starring Russell Crowe.
