In a press release issued today by Capcom, the game developer announced that the public demo for its fifth iteration of the franchise Resident Evil would be available for download both through PlayStation Network and Xbox Live online platforms.

What is somewhat surprising, though, is that Capcom chose to delay the release dates of the demo for the two gaming consoles. That is, users of Microsoft Xbox will have access to the Resident Evil 5 demo starting January 26, whereas PlayStation 3 gamers will have to wait for another full week’s time, until February 2, in order to get the game.

Still, even though there are delays between the two demo releases, users are anyway happy, as the full release of Resident Evil 5 is scheduled early this spring, on March 13. Nevertheless, PlayStation 3 users filled in the forum boards wondering why the famous game developer chose to release the demo on different dates.

Besides, even more rumors were floating around the company, as the initial statements regarding the release dates referred strictly to the European continent but some users pointed out that creating a European PlayStation Network account would have solved this problem, too.

The demo version of Resident Evil 5 brings along a fully feature game experience, as the game includes all the three co-op scenarios, letting players to choose between single-player with AI support, two players in split screen mode and two players across the PSN multiplayer protocol.
