It really seems that Resident Evil 5, scheduled to arrive in March 2009, will offer its fans a playable demo for 2008. Capcom will release such a demo on December the 5th, featuring the much-publicized co-op gameplay.
Unfortunately, the demo will only be available in the Japanese stores, but Capcom may release the demo in other territories as well, only at a later date.
The Japanese magazine Famitsu will get the demo in less than 10 days, and the game will include two stages set in “familiar urban settings from past game show demos.” The demo will only be available to Xbox Live Gold (paying) members. There has been no mention yet of a PS3 version, and it’s a rumor that states it’s another Xbox timed exclusive.
As for the U.S. demo, no official word from Capcom has been received yet. There will certainly be one, but where it slots between now and the game’s official March 13, 2009 release date is anyone’s guess. According to the company’s US blog, the trial will be making it to Europe and North America “a bit later,” that’s why it’s certainly going to appear in early 2009.
The blog also mentions: "Resident Evil 5 is still on track for the previously-announced Friday the 13th, March 2009, release in both North America and Europe.” Capcom also detailed a Japan-only Collector’s Edition that everyone wants.
However, a few hours after this information about the demo appeared, Capcom confirmed to ShackNews that there will be a demo in North America for the Xbox 360 and the PS3 owners also, and everyone just looks forward to it.
