Donna Martin, who played Tori Spelling in the famous Beverly
Hills 90210 TV series decided to pull off from her role as the Beverly Hills boutique owner on the spinoff which
will premiere on September 2.
The contemporary series of the hit 1990s TV show was
commissioned by U.S.
network CW. The original show ran for 10 years from 1990 to 2000 and starred
Jason Priestley, Luke Perry, Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling.
In late may, the network announced that Jennie Garth would
be the first original member of the cast that joined the new series, playing
the role that made her famous: Kelly Taylor. Garth’s character will have become
a guidance counselor.
Shortly after Garth confirmed she would star in the new
series, Tori Spelling expressed her desire to also be a part of the show. Like
Garth, Tori Spelling should have make a guest appearances in the new series, as
her character will not be a regular one.
But according to LA Weekly the actress decided to pull off,
after she found out that she would be getting from $10,000 to $20,000 per
episode, while Jenny Garth and Shannon Doherty, another member of the original
cast, would be paid from $35,000 to $50,000 per episode.
“At this time, there are no plans for Tori to appear in the
‘90210′ spin-off,” her rep told Usmagazine on Monday.
Earlier this year, in May, Tori Spelling said on “The Billy
Bush Show” she is excited to play Donna’s role again and she also expected the
fans of the series to be excited.
“I think the fans would be really excited to see Donna
Martin back,” Spelling told Bush. “And I’d be excited to play her again. It’s
been a long time.”
