Famous actor Morgan Freeman is reportedly divorcing his wife of 24 years, according to an Access Hollywood report.

The information was provided by Freeman's business partner, attorney Bill Luckett in an interview with Access Hollywood. Luckett said that the Academy Award-winning actor, film director and narrator and his wife, Myrna Colley-Lee, "are involved in a divorce action."

The news of the divorce comes just a few days after Freeman, one of Hollywood's most popular and respected actors, broke his arm and elbow in a serious car accident.

The other passenger in the vehicle at the time at the crash was 48-year-old Demaris Meyer, reportedly a friend of Freeman's wife. Morgan Freeman was driving Meyer's 1997 Nissan Maxima, lost control of the vehicle and then overcorrected, causing the car to flip several times before coming to a rest right-side up.

The 71-year-old actor well-known for his roles in movies such as The Shawshank Redemptio, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Seven, and Glory is currently in a Memphis, Tenn., hospital where he is receiving treatment. He is expected to be released in a few days.

According to his publicist Donna Lee, the actor who won an Oscar in 2005 for Million Dollar Baby is doing well and is looking forward to returning home.
