The Associated Press is reporting that as early as next week IBM will unveil a version of Lotus Notes for iPhone an iPod Touch.

The software, which requires use of IBM's Domino e-mail server program, will be free for users who already have a Lotus Web-access license and start at $39 per year for new users, AP informs. The Armonk, New York-based company has 135 million Lotus users worldwide.

Also, during Lotusphere conference which is set to be held in Orlando, Fla., the Big Blue will release a free Lotus Symphony "productivity" package for Macs.

Lotus Symphony, which includes three core applications (Lotus Symphony Documents, Lotus Symphony Spreadsheets and Lotus Symphony Presentations), is available for download since September 18.

Lotus Symphony supports multiple file formats, including Microsoft Office and Open Document Format (ODF), and also can output content in PDF format.

According to a previous report from IBM, Lotus Symphony has seen more than 100,000 downloads in the first week of availability.

On Monday, IBM reported that it achieved a higher-than-projected 2.8 dollars per share in the fourth quarter of 2007, up 24 per cent year-on-year.
