It seems that adults like cooking competitions as the
reality show “Hell’s Kitchen” was No. 1 among young-adult viewers. According to
the Los Angeles Times, Nielsen Media Research released the figures regarding TV
rating and the July 8 finale of Fox’s cooking competition show ranked No.1 among
adults aged between 18 and 49 and No.9 overall, with 8.9 million viewers.
Fox won 26 of the last 27 weeks in that key demographic. The
research showed that the viewers aged between 18 and 49 preferred reality
shows, including ABC’s “Wipeout” and, of course, “The Bachelorette” but also NBC’s
“The Baby Borrowers.
The most watched program over the last week was NBC’s
Tuesday show “America’s
Got Talent” with 12.7 million viewers. The debut of “Greatest American Dog” on
CBS was watched by 9.5 million viewers, and ranked No. 5, just like “The
Bachelorette.”
Regarding series like “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” CBS
was No.1 with 6.9 million viewers for its prime-time programming last week,
followed by Fox with 5.8 million viewers, ABC with 5.5 million viewers and NBC
also 5.5 million.
NBC’s Miss Universe Pageant had only 6.7 million people watching
on Sunday night.
Regarding basic cable, USA had 5 of 6 most watched
programs, including the Season 2 premiere of the drama “Burn Notice” with 5.4
million viewers and “In Plain Sight” with 5.1 million. The most viewed show on
cable was USA’s
“WWE Raw” with 5.8 million viewers.
