Although we have official confirmation of the September 9 event in San Francisco, we still know too little about what Apple is really going to do. So as we wait, rumors seem to multiply on a daily basis, all in anticipation for the Apple event.
As well all know, September is iPod's month, so we can assume who is going to be the star of Apple's presentation next week. Another clue about what is going to happen is of course Apple's “Let's rock” invitation, which means they must have something big in store for music fans.
One rumor that started some time ago was that Apple will introduce the next-generation iPods, with appealing new designs and, most of all, new prices.
According to Kevin Rose, Digg architect and Pownce co-founder, we should see some design changes in the iPod Touch, and a complete redesign for the iPod Nano, as well as some software updates.
In addition to that, some suggest we might even see some iPhone news, and perhaps the 2.1 firmware with features that we still don't know. And as Apple isn't planning on saying anything before the event, we'll just have to wait a bit longer to see what they have in mind for the end of the year.
Whatever it is that Apple has in store for next week's event, it will probably have quite a nice impact on its sales figures, if we take into consideration the holiday season shopping-mania. If Apple really wants to introduce the next-gen iPod, this is the perfect time to do it!
