There was a rough weekend for magazines worldwide, with rumors spreading fast about the Hollywood super hot couple’s most wanted wedding, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. “Did they marry or not?” appeared to have been the weekend’s dilemma and, without any confirmation from the couple’s publicists, everything was slippery.
According to Star magazine’s website, Jolie and Pitt, who have both been married before, tied the knot on Saturday in New Orleans, in the French Quarter Wedding Chapel, where Pitt reportedly wanted the ceremony to take place.
The rumors turned pale when Brad’s representative told ShowbizSpy.com that she had “no idea” if they were true or not.
And finally, the wedding rumors were dissolved by a close source to Pitt and Jolie who told People.com there was “no wedding.” Moreover, they are not even in New Orleans over the weekend, but in Austin, Texas where Pitt is shooting a new movie, “Tree of Life,” with Sean Penn.
In the past, Pitt revealed that he and Jolie would not get married until same sex couples were granted the right to get married in America.
"Angie and I will consider tying the knot when everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able," he told Esquire in 2006.
Jolie also has brushed off the value of marriage. “We both have been married before, so it’s not marriage that’s necessarily kept people together. We are legally bound to our children, not to each other, and I think that’s the most important thing,” she told Vogue the same year.
Married or not, Jolie is said to be having a tough pregnancy this time around. Widely speculated to be carrying twins, a boy and a girl, she is reportedly suffering from gestational diabetes, which affects about 2% of women during their pregnancies.
Jolie and Pitt, who have been an item since 2005, also have four children, adopted sons Maddox, 6, and Pax, 4, adopted daughter Zahara, 3, and 21-month-old biological daughter, Shiloh.
