Rafael Nadal Ready To Play After Medical Check

Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal is ready to extend his 73-match clay-court win streak on Thursday after undergoing checks by tournament doctors. The reason of medical examination is that Nadal complaint the day before of dizziness.

His spokesman said that the world number 2 was back at his hotel after having lunch. "He's ready to play a tennis match tonight," he said after failing to specify if Nadal's exam took place at the Foro Italico on in hospital.

Nadal is riding an all-time clay win streak of 73 matches and is next due to face Russian Mikhail Youzhny.

"I don't have anything, but I was a little bit dizzy before the match," two-time champion Nadal said on Wednesday after defeating Italian Daniele Bracciale. "I went to the doctor and he said it was nothing."  Nadal last lost on clay in April 2005, winning 12 titles in the interim

Should Nadal be unable to play it be another big blow for the tournament. Earlier Thursday, world number 1 Roger Federer crashed out against Italy's Filippo Volandri. Nadal beat Federer in an epic five-set final for the title last year.
