The rumors turned out to be true, Radiohead and Jack Johnson are set to perform at the inaugural All Points West music festival the first two nights.
The lineup for All Points West Music and Arts Festival, which will take place at Liberty State Park in New Jersey next summer, has been announced yesterday by the festival's promoter, Goldenvoice, and it includes more than 40 acts to take place on three stages.
British rock group Radiohead will headline on Aug. 8-9, while mellow singer-songwriter Jack Johnson will close the Aug. 10 show. Since Radiohead is considered one of the most important and innovative rock groups of its generation, their booking for the festival was a smart move. Radiohead will be touring the US in May before returning to Europe in June.
Johnson is also one of the headliners at the Coachella festival near Los Angeles in April. Both events are organized by the same promoter, AEG Live/Goldenvoice.
The lineup also features semi-major acts such as Cat Power, Underworld, Kings of Leon, the Roots, Andrew Bird, New Pornographers, Youssou N'Dour, Animal Collective, Andrew Bird, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Metric, CSS, Girl Talk, Chromeo, The The Go! Team, Amadou & Mariam, The Black Angels, Sia, The Felice Brothers, K'Naan, Jason Isbell, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Alberta Cross, The Virgins, Black Kids, Mates of State, Duffy, Forro in the Dark, Nicole Atkins, Juana Molina, Little Brother, Rogue Wave, Neil Halstead and Your Vegas.
Tickets for All Points West go on sale Feb. 29 through Ticketmaster.com; one-day passes are $89, three-day passes $258. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Friends of Liberty State Park, an organization that aims to make the venue "greener."
