The annual Lollapalooza festival, which will open on August
1st in Chicago’s Grant Park, will be headlined by Radiohead, who
will then be on their North American tour.
Other bands leading the lineup for the festival will be Rage
Against the Machine and Nine Inch Nails.
Perry Farell, the frontman of the successful band Jane’s
Addiction and the founder of the festival, described this year’s lineup as “a
gorgeous array of talent,” the Associated Press informs.
Other renowned musicians performing at the festival are Grammy-winning
rapper Lupe Fiasco, The Raconteurs, Cat Power, Gnarls Barkley, the gypsy-punk
band Gogol Bordello, the Go!Team, Bloc Party and the nineteen-member indie
group Broken Social Scene.
The lineup also includes The Weakerthans, Booka Shade,
Santogold, Cadence Weapon, Ferras, De Novo Dahl, Yeasayer, Grizzly Bear, Stephen
Malkmus & the Jicks, Uffie, the Octopus Project, White Lies, Magic Wands,
Electric Touch, Battles, Jamie Lidell, Butch Walker, Mates of State, Amadou
& Mariam, Blues Traveler.
A total of 120 acts will reportedly be featured.
Last year’s Lollapalooza festival registered gross sales of almost
$10 million and cumulated an audience of nearly 170,000 during the three days.
Three-day tickets are already available in advance for the
price of $190. When these are sold, the price will be raised to $205.
