Research In Motion (RIM) will soon launch a new version of the BlackBerry Storm. Most probably, the launch date will be some when in September and the new version of the phone will feature several improvements than its predecessor.
By far the most important addition to the new BlackBerry Storm will be the Wi Fi, according to a SlashGear report.
“We can say that we’ve no doubts regarding the veracity of their information,” SlashGear’s Steven Grady writes. “The source gave us their assurances that the Storm 2 would have WiFi, and would be an even better Pro-consumer device than the first Storm.”
Probably the biggest draw-back of the BlackBerry Storm was the fact that it lacked Wi Fi. However, the new version of the smartphone will have that in order to address the criticism and make the Storm an even better pro-consumer device.
Besides the September release date and the new Wi Fi feature, no other details about the Storm 2 were revealed so far.
Nevertheless, according to a report from Boy Genius Web site, the Storm 2 will also feature a new type of screen that will run on technology called TruePress and not SurePress. Another new feature of the Storm 2 will reportedly be a 5-megapixel camera, according to the Boy Genius report.
The announcement of the BlackBerry Storm 2 comes a bit sooner than expected. About a week ago, RIM launched the BlackBerry AppWorld and the BlackBerry Storm 1 hasn’t even made a year since launch.
