The award-winning American rapper Queen Latifah has reportedly sued a film production company because she hasn’t been remunerated at all for her cameo role in the "The Perfect Holiday", a film partially financed by the production company cited in the suit.
Latifah’s lawyers filed suit on Wednesday arguing that the California-based company called Perfect Christmas Productions didn’t respect the contract and must pay the actress $275,000 for her small role.
The Golden Globe winner – real name Dana Elaine Owens – played a cameo role as "Mrs. Christmas" in the "The Perfect Holiday", a film which also stared Terrence Howard and Gabrielle Union
The 38-year-old actress’ lawyers claimed that Perfect Christmas Productions has received several million dollars from different sources for the "The Perfect Holiday," a film also produced by Latifah and released in December 2007. By February the film which was also entitled “Perfect Christmas” had grossed more than $5.8 million in the United States, according to Box Office Mojo.
Latifah, a Newark, New Jersey-native, won three Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Image Awards and a Grammy Award. She was also nominated six additional times
for the Grammy Award, one time for an Emmy Award and on another occasion for an Academy Award.
