United Kingdom’s Queen Elizabeth II, the oldest monarch to reign over the Britons, showed that although her majesty is 81 she is very open to the ways and ideas of the young generation.
"The queen always keeps abreast with new ways of communicating with people. The Christmas message was podcast last year," The Buckingham Palace said in a statement according to the International Herald Tribune.
On Sunday, the Queen launched a channel on the well-known video-sharing website YouTube, the Buckingham Palace announced.
The online video service was named The Royal Channel and its short term plans include the queen's 50th traditional Christmas Day message which will be uploaded for view for the first time this year, Sunday's Observer weekly reported.
Although Queen Elizabeth used a computer for the first time two years ago and, just like everyone at her age may not be very enthused about it, her excellence found out about Youtube phenomenon from her grandchildren Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, the Observer reported.
The channel was set to be launched on Sunday with video recordings of the queen's parents' wedding in 1923 and of Queen Alexandra visiting rose sellers in London in 1917.
Other footage which will be released at the launch features reaction to George VI's death, the queen's accession to the throne and her coronation.
The Buckingham Palace also announced though its officials that the plans are to add more footage of this sort and also to translate it into various languages.
