Pop-queen Madonna’s representative has revealed that according
to the singer’s and Guy Ritchie’s divorce settlement, Madge was to pay her
ex-husband between $76 million and $92 million, whereas their joint fortune has been estimated to amount to $525
million.
Spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg stated for the Associated Press
that the aforementioned amount of money included the value of the former couple’s
country home Ashcombe in western England, along with their London pub, the
Punchbowl.
Moreover, the rep told the AP that the figure was probably
one of the largest ones entailed by a divorce settlement.
Currently, while the details of the settlement are being
drawn up, Madonna and Guy Ritchie are still in talks concerning the custodial arrangements for
their children. The singer, 50, and Ritchie, 40, have an 8-year-old son named
Rocco together, the couple having also adopted a boy from Malawi, David Banda,
whose mother had died not long after she gave birth to him. The adoption was
approved by a Malawian court back in May 2006.
Madonna is also mother to 12-year-old Lourdes, whose father
is fitness trainer Carlos Leon, with whom Madonna became involved in 1994.
The latter filed for divorce claiming that the reason behind
her legal request was her husband’s unreasonable behaviour, while the two were
granted a preliminary separation on November 21 in the High Court of London.
After 8 years spent together, the couple has now parted ways
literally as well, with Madonna planning to live in the United States, while
Guy Ritchie is said to remain in Britain.
