Supermodel Heidi Klum returns with her reality television show “Project Runway” for a fourth season on the Bravo channel, encouraging contestants once more to conjure clothes out of unexpected resources.
“Project Runway” first aired on the Bravo network in late 2004 and was so successful that it soon developed a following of avid fans, enthusiastic about challenges presented in each new episode of the reality fashion how.
First things first though. As viewers have gotten used by now, Heidi Klum reprises her role as the show’s host and one of the judges, Tim Gunn as fashion guru and designer Michael Kors and Elle magazine fashion director Nina Garcia as the other two judges.
Casting auditions for Season 4 of “Project Runway” began in April 2007 and filming wrapped in July 2007. The fourth season will premiere Wednesday, Nov. 14.
The Associated Press reports that this new season was shot in Manhattan during a marathon of design challenges, runway evaluations and consecutive dismissals of 12 contestants.
The season will end in February, when the three finalists show their designs during New York Fashion Week. The show’s judges, Klum, Kors and Garcia, will choose the winner, who receives $100,000 to start a fashion line.
Heidi Klum told the AP that she initially did not consider hosting duties but was convinced to take on this role as well, in addition to that of co-creator, executive producer and judge. Her hard work on the show has earned her an Emmy Awards nomination for each of the first three seasons.
While Heidi has also busied herself with “Germany’s Next Top Model,” a German reality television show in a similar vein to that of “Project Runway,” only it shows contestants strive to win a modeling contract with IMG, the German-born supermodel is also a devoted mother and wife.
She and musician Seal have been married since 2005 and have two sons together, Henry Günther, 2, and Johan Riley, almost 1, as well as daughter Leni, 3, from Heidi’s previous relationship with Formula One boss Flavio Briatore.
