Priscilla Presley is the victim of a man who pretended to be
a legitimate dermatologist and instead treated her with unsafe substances which
he alleged were actually better than Botox.
Celebrity gossip site TMZ reports that the former wife of
Rock’n’Roll King Elvis Presley, Priscilla Presley, has suffered a botched
cosmetic procedure at the hands of a charlatan.
Dr. Daniel Serrano, whom Presley contacted around 2003, was
an Argentinean-born doctor who found himself trusting clients among Hollywood celebrities and claimed to be able to offer
them a miracle drug that was even better than Botox.
TMZ reports some of his clients, apart from Presley, were
Shawn King, wife of talk show host Larry King, and Diane Richie, at the time
married to musician Lionel Richie.
Serrano injected his clients’ faces with industrial,
low-grade silicone similar to what is used to lubricate auto parts in Argentina. The
non-FDA drug was smuggled by Serrano in to the U.S. and sold by the so-called
doctor for $300 to $500 an injection.
Serrano was indicted for smuggling drugs and the conspiracy
and use of unapproved drugs. He was convicted, and last week he was released
and is currently being investigated by federal immigration officials and could
be deported, adds TMZ.
Priscilla Presley currently participates as one of the
celebrity contestants on the sixth season of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.” At
62, she is the oldest female contestant to compete in the show.
Presley was married to Elvis Presley from 1967 to 1973. They
had one child, daughter Lisa Marie, born in 1968. Lisa Marie Presley recently
announced she would make Priscilla a grandmother again, as she is pregnant with
her third child.
