Rapper Foxy Brown has been sentenced to 1 year of jail, after violating the conditions of her probation, including the notorious attack of a neighbor with her BlackBerry in late July.

Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Melissa Jackson decided she has had enough of Foxy Brown’s lawbreaking and ruled Friday that the feisty singer could benefit from 12 months behind bars to cool her quick temper.

Judge Jackson told Foxy, whose real name is Inga Marchand, that she had violated the terms of her probation by not attending anger management classes and by breaking the law again (and again).

In mid-August, the judge ruled that Foxy be locked up until her next status hearing on Sept. 7. Friday, the singer told the judge that she deserved another chance, according to Reuters.

“Being in jail humbled me in a way I never imagined,” she said. “I realize that this is not where I want to be.”

The judge replied that the apology was “too little, too late.” She also said Foxy would be treated “just like any other defendant, despite her celebrity.”

Judge Jackson placed Foxy under three years of probation after she attacked two manicurists over the fee in 2004. She was also ordered to attend anger management classes.

Earlier this year, Foxy once more attacked a person, this time an employer in a beauty salon. She threw hair glue at the man and then resisted the police officer that was called on the scene. She was charged with battery and obstruction of justice.

The judge gave her another chance, by ordering her to continue the anger management classes and take random test drugs.

This Friday, Judge Jackson said: “Probation is a gift that is given to the defendant and I feel very strongly that I gave her the chance to do what she wanted with her life.”

In late July, a female neighbor of Foxy’s filed a complaint against the singer. She accused the 28-year-old of having hit her with a BlackBerry, which caused a black eye, a swollen lip and loose teeth.

In early August, Foxy was driving on a suspended license in New Jersey. She gave police officers false information.

That same month, the New York Post reported that Foxy was three-months pregnant and engaged. There was no mention of this during Friday’s hearing.
