Posh And Becks Ready To Embrace The American Culture

Speaking with NBC’s Matt Lauer on Thursday in order to "clear up some misconceptions about her sometimes sour disposition, her family’s move to L.A., and her much-publicized friendship with Katie Holmes," Victoria Beckham, widely known as Posh Spice, said she and her family are "so excited about America."

"We want to embrace the culture with open arms. This is a huge move for us, for our children. You know, David takes his career very seriously. This is a big, big deal for us," Victoria said.

David and Victoria Beckham announced their move to Hollywood seven months ago when David, who worked for Real Madrid, signed to play for US soccer club Los Angeles Galaxy.

The two celebrated their arrival in US by posing for August’s issue of W Magazine. According to the magazine, the pair are "determined to become the new American idols".  (The August issue will be available on stands in New York on July 13th and nationwide on July 20th)

"Not as many people know who we are here," she told Today. "It might be a bit crazy when we first get here, because we're new, but then I think people will probably realize, you know what, I'm actually quite boring.

"I think everyone else's lives are probably, I wouldn't say more interesting, we have a great life, but we are relatively private."

The Beckham family, David, 32, Victoria, 33, Brooklyn, 8, Romeo, 4, and Cruz, 2, were photographed making their way through London’s Heathrow airport today to catch the flight to Los Angeles.

They’re set to move into a Beverly Hills mansion reported to be worth $22 million.

"I had quite a lot of things to get my head around. What was the nicest area? I was very much like, ‘Okay, the seaside is down there, training is there, school is there, and I think Barneys is over there.’ I kind of did it like that…we didn’t want anything too huge, too fancy, too ostentatious…something quite practical for the kids. It’s a light, happy house, with a great corridor the kids are going to love when they are roller-skating," Victoria said in the interview for W magazine.
