At last year’s MTV Video Music Awards, Britney Spears put a
monkey wrench in the works. Although in an article her performance was
described as “lumbering around on stage in an ill-fitting black bikini as she
lip-synced her way through the dance number,” MTV reported Monday that the pop
artist had been three times nominated in this year awards ceremony.
Until now, she received no less than 16 nominations.
However, never in her life she has left with a toffee. Let’s see what she’ll do
now, because she was short-listed for the Best Video of the Year, Best Female,
and Best Pop Video.
Maybe she will triumph this time, with the nominated
pop-groove song “Piece of Me,” whose clip follows a paparazzi theme.
As written on the MTV Web site, "Britney Spears made
last year's MTV Video Music Awards a memorable one with her performance of “Gimme
More” - albeit in ways she may not have intended. But on Sept. 7, Spears will
get a chance at VMA glory."
It isn’t known for sure if Ms. Spears will deliver a
performance at the 25th annual VMAs. Among the A-list musicians, it is only
confirmed that Lil’ Wayne, Kid Rock and Jonas Brothers will present their
musical works. However, a spokesperson for MTV said that Britney is in talks with
the cable television network to sing again at the event.
