Authorities from Milwaukee,
Wisconsin are looking for a man
who was caught on tape beating a bus driver and trying to commandeer the
vehicle. They released the surveillance video on Thursday.
As the video showed, a man in a red sweatshirt and bandanna
got on the bus and started yelling at the driver. He began to punch the driver
while he was also trying to take him out of his seat. In all this time the bus
was still moving.
According to KARE 11, a representative of the bus drivers
union said operators have to face a lot, but this attack was “one of the most
severe assaults” they had ever seen.
There were eight or nine people on the bus and they were
watching the whole thing.
The man couldn’t get off the bus and grabbed the steering
wheel, taking over the bus. He accelerated, passed through an intersection and
slammed the bus right into a tree.
Once stopped, the bus doors opened and the suspect managed
to run away.
Passengers weren’t seriously hurt but the driver was pretty
shaken up.
The police are now searching for the attacker and this was
the reason that they released the video. They are sure someone will recognize
the man and denounce him.
Sheriff David Clarke said that the bus driver handled the
situation very well.
