Police Reports Finding a Body that Could Be Leah Hickman

Investigations in Leah Hickman’s disappearing continue, as authorities found the body of an unidentified female, believed to be Leah, in a crawl space of a common laundry room in the basement of the apartment building she lived in. The body had been discovered on Friday, but investigators only removed it on Saturday after a thorough analysis of the crime scene was conducted.

“Although we strongly believe the body is that of Leah Hickman, a positive identification will be made by the medical examiner,” said Lt. Rocky Johnson in a statement. So far, no suspects have been identified.

Leah Hickman was last seen one week ago, at her sister’s apartment. That same day, she reportedly went to a fast food nearby, as shown by a receipt found in her apartment. Leah didn’t show up later that same day to meet one of her friends, and no one heard from her ever since.

Following the discovery of the unidentified female body, wrapped in plastic bags and left in the basement of Leah’s apartment building, police representatives said in a press conference that a detailed examination will be held, but there will be no other press releases until Monday afternoon, unless a breakthrough in the case should happen.

21 year-old Marshall University journalism student’s story had a great impact on the community, as a concert was held in order to raise a reward fund for Leah. The news on the body found in Leah’s apartment building came in the same day as the concert, which was still held, this time in her memory.

In the meantime, Leah’s friends and neighbors are strongly concerned that a killer is on the loose. Police says they will not rest until the murder will be solved and the person responsible for the horrible crime will be arrested.
