Police Arrests Two in Millionaire Development’s Murder

The Greenwich Police has put two men under arrest in connection with the 2006 killing of Greenwich real estate developer, Andrew M. Kissel, police officials said.

The first man who was allegedly involved in stabbing the real estate developer to death is his former driver, 47-year-old Carlos Trujillo of Bridgeport, who was handcuffed on Friday. The other one was identified as the driver’s cousin, 21-year-old Leonard Trujillo, who was arrested early Saturday at his home in Worcester, Mass.

Leonard Trujillo is charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder, while Carlos Trujillo will face the charge of conspiracy to commit murder.

"There is still a lot of information to be gathered and facts to be discerned," Greenwich Police Chief David Ridberg said in his statement released to announce the arrests. He added that more info on the case will be revealed to the press on Monday.

Kissel, a 46-year-old businessman from Connecticut, was found dead at his home on April 3, 2006. He was stabbed to death a few days before he could and probably would have pleaded guilty in a real estate fraud case.

Investigators had their eyes on Carlos Trujillo since the first day after the murder had taken place. He was interviewed on more than one occasion, gave samples of his DNA, fingerprints and some personal documents as well. He constantly denied any involvement in Kissel's death, his lawyer said.

Carlos Trujillo is currently held at the Greenwich police headquarters. He will appear Monday in Superior Court in Stamford unless he posts a $1 million cash bond.

The other Trujillo was detained since early Saturday at the Worcester police station. He will appear Monday in Worcester District Court.
