The nightmare of Oscar-winning actress and singer Jennifer Hudson began on Friday, when her mother and brother were gunned down during a domestic dispute. Police confirm that they are investigating the double homicide of Darnell Donerson, Hudson's 57-year-old mother, and Jason Hudson, her 29-year-old brother.
Julian King, a 7-year-old boy, believed to be Hudson's nephew was declared missing in the aftermath of the shooting. Authorities are searching for the boy, but a suspect thought to have abducted him was arrested. William Balfour, Hudson’s brother-in-law, was believed to have abducted Julian, but the night he was arrested the boy wasn’t with him, according to reports.
Police said the bodies were discovered at about 3 p.m. Friday, Jason Hudson's body was discovered in the bedroom and Darnell Donerson’s body was found in the living room. A relative found Darnell Donerson fatally shot in her living room and notified authorities. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots about 9 a.m. Investigators said there were no signs of forced entry. They are treating the case as a domestic matter.
Authorities have issued an Amber Alert for the missing boy, Julian King. Julian is wearing a brown striped polo shirt and khaki pants. He is 4 feet, 11 inches tall, weighs 130 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair.
