‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ Ruled The MTV Movie Awards

Johnny Depp’s "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest," took home the prize for best movie at the MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles this weekend, while he was honored with the award for best performance, as Captain Jack Sparrow.

Depp joined “Pirates” producer Jerry Bruckheimer to accept the trophy.

"This is the man who did it all right here, Johnny Depp," Bruckheimer said. "Without him, we wouldn't be here."

As he took the stage to accept his own award, the 43-year-old actor received a standing ovation.

"I'm not very good at this kind of thing, but I just want to say thanks to all of you guys. I'm deeply touched," he thanked the fans.

"I'd like to thank this man," Depp added pointing at Bruckheimer as he grabbed his Golden Popcorn, "and Disney for not firing me, because we were teetering on that for a while."

Side by side with Depp, British actor Sacha Baron Cohen, who wrote and starred in "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan," won best comedic performance.

"Unfortunately Borat can't be here tonight, he's been feeling the pressures of fame and had to check himself into rehab," Cohen said while on stage.

He was also awarded the prize for Best Kiss, alongside Will Farrell for their smooch in "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby."

Will Smith's son, Jaden, who made his acting debut last year, won the Breakthrough Performance award for his role in "The Pursuit of Happyness," while veteran star, Jack Nicholson won Best Villain for his role in Martin Scorsese’s multi-Oscar winning film, "The Departed."
