Angelina Jolie can’t possibly pass unnoticed, but she can,
however, hit us with unexpected moves, as she did on Monday night.
The beautiful actress, who has just come back from a
humanitarian assignment in Afghanistan,
showed up out of the blue at the Hollywood Film Festival Awards Gala yesterday,
where she praised Clint Eastwood, the director of the newest film she is
starring in.
When Angelina Jolie was introduced, everybody was winded, as
no one knew that the “Changeling” star would be present at the event. Wearing a
spaghetti strap gown, whose train flowed beautifully on the stage, the
33-year-old actress announced that Clint Eastwood had won the Hollywood Film
Festival’s director of the year award.
In spite the fact that she is the mother of six, Angelina
Jolie found the time to pay tribute to the helmer of her newest flick, in which
she plays a mother whose son has disappeared.
In her speech, the “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” star explained that
Clint Eastwood was the kind of person who outshined his own public image by
being not only a great filmmaker, but also an impressive leader.
“There are some people in this business that are icons, and
we often wonder if, when we meet them, they’ll live up to what we imagine them
to be,” Angelina Jolie told the audience, which included A-list attendees. “And
Clint Eastwood in person is even better,” she added.
In addition, Clint Eastwood himself did not stay away from
eulogizing the star of his movie, saying that she was more than a stunning
beauty, as she had also been gifted with an incredible talent.
After the two left the stage together, Angelina Jolie
sneaked out of the event as surreptitiously as she got in.
