Windows 7 is currently in beta mode and it’s being tested by anyone who wants to try it. The first reactions to Microsoft’s new operating system are largely positive, most claiming that Windows 7 is better in every way than Vista, even in beta mode.
Microsoft has recognized some of the mistakes Vista has been, and still is, criticized for including the compatibility issues with certain programs and devices, the fact that after 5 years in the making upon its release there were no drivers to make some components run the operating system. On the other hand, Microsoft said that Vista successfully made things safer, especially on the Internet and in different networks.
Showing off the new things that Windows 7 can do, Microsoft has launched a site that lets users modify the appearance of their Windows 7.
This might not seem like a lot, but customization is very important and this puts the new operating system in a very good light.
The site currently has 15 themes, 13 desktop backgrounds, 8 desktop gadgets, and 5 SideShow gadgets, made entirely for showing the system’s capabilities. Among other new features, Microsoft presented Libraries, which is a feature that will allow the user to search files and folders more efficiently.
These small details, related to personalization, are what make a product from good to excellent, and it seems that Microsoft has finally understood this. Windows 7 is currently on the lips of everybody and the impressions are excellent.
Some are actually using the beta as a main operating system, being more stable and more efficient than Vista.
