Paula Abdul has a bone to pick with the “American Idol” producers who reportedly ignored her practically begging them to keep suicidal fan Paula Goodspeed off the show, but even after the desperate warning, the dangerously obsessed fan made the show anyway.
Yesterday Paula revealed that Paula Goodspeed, the woman who committed suicide outside the Idol judge's home on November 11, had been stalking her for 17 years. Apparently Paula Abdul hasn’t slept in her own house since any of this happened. Paula revealed the shocking details about her alleged stalker, Paula Goodspeed, to "Extra's" AJ Calloway. Apparently Goodspeed attempted to take her life once before in the same spot she was found dead last month, according to Paula.
Abdul, in a Sirius XM radio interview on “Barbara Live!” with Barbara Walters Monday night, said that she was familiar with Goodspeed. "She had been writing disturbing letters for 17 years, almost 18 years," Abdul, 46, said in the interview. "We had restraining orders at times."
Goodspeed auditioned for "American Idol" in 2005 and her off-key rendition of "Proud Mary" was ridiculed by judges. Abdul said after the song that she was "speechless" and "that's not a great thing." Moreover judge Simon Cowell made fun of Goodspeed's braces.
And now Paula Abdul has decided to talk about Goodspeed’s death and how it affected her. It’s probably no surprise to hear that Paula’s been avoiding her home as much as possible since the incident, as People reports: “I’ve been staying in different homes and hotels, and I have security with me… It was very tragic and very upsetting to hear. She had tried to do this before, and it was just heartbreaking … It was in the middle of Hollywood week, and it happened while I was actually working at the Kodak Theatre, and it was devastating to hear.”
