Paul McCartney Brings His Lady to Town

Living legend Paul McCartney is slightly over 64 but he is well loved. And he loves right back one could say, if we are to take into consideration the public display of affection taking place Tuesday.

Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell appeared together in public, officially, for the first time this Tuesday, when they attended British Style Observed, a photography exhibition and auction held at the Natural History Museum in London.

It featured works from the former Beatle’s eldest daughter Mary and benefited Macmillan Cancer Support.

Among the guests attending the event were Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson and Elle Macpherson, as well as McCartney’s designer daughter Stella. Nancy Shevell, 48, told People magazine her favorite work was a photograph of Academy Award winner Helen Mirren.

British paper The Daily Mail reports that McCartney and Shevell did not pose together on the red carpet but did have their photo taken inside the event.

The 66-year-old musician seems to be recovering well emotionally from his chaotic divorce from Heather Mills and his music career is as flourishing as ever.

Next week, he will be in Tel Aviv for his “Friendship First” concert, a show that he has promised to be memorable. The Beatles were once scheduled to play there in 1965 but the gig was cancelled by the government.

Israel’s ambassador to Britain, Ron Prosor, apologized to the two surviving Beatles, McCartney and Ringo Starr, during a trip to Liverpool earlier this year, saying, “There is no doubt that it was a great missed opportunity to prevent people like you, who shaped the minds of the generation, to come to Israel and perform.”

More than four decades later, McCartney is ready to make up for lost time. He told People that he was rehearsing for the concert. “I was a Boy Scout. ‘Be prepared,’ that’s the motto.”
