Patrick Swayze on the Set of The Beast, Grateful for Miracle Recovery

The world is spinning the right way around again, with actor Patrick Swayze, who has been fighting pancreatic cancer, looking happy and healthy once more.

Patrick Swayze was photographed over the weekend at Los Angeles Airport and it was very good news for once: the actor looked like his old self once more, healthy, strong, glowing.

“I’m a miracle dude ... I don’t know why,” he told photographers and fans on Sunday afternoon, as quoted by People.com.

The 55-year-old star told the crowd he was flying to Chicago, where he is filming his new TV series for A&E, “The Beast.” Swayze stars as eccentric veteran FBI agent Charles Barker, who is who is teamed up with a rookie partner (portrayed by Australian actor Travis Fimmel) whom he must teach his particular investigative methods, all the while being secretly followed around by an Internal Affairs team.

Swayze shot the pilot in December 2007. The actor’s participation in the series became uncertain in March when he made the shocking announcement that he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

It was only last month that A&E greenlighted the project. Patrick Swayze said in a statement at the time that he had been searching “for quite a long time to find a character that is this multi-layered, unpredictable and downright entertaining” and described the project as “current and cutting edged.”

It was also said at the time that he would continue his course of treatment throughout filming. He has been receiving treatment at Stanford University Medical Center, near San Francisco.

Production on the show is set to begin this summer and will film on location in Chicago. The show has a scheduled premiere date of early 2009.

The first good news Patrick Swayze and wife Lisa had was back in April, when they released a statement saying they were “thrilled” with his recovery and thanked fans around the world for their “prayers, meditations and good thoughts sent his way.”
