Patrick Swayze Will Write a Memoir Book

There are some people whose life happenings would perfectly fit to be written in a book. These happenings are the ones who show how much did a person fight a disease or a hard problem. And it’s good to have someone sharing to you both his problems and their solutions. It always helps the writer and the reader. That is what Patrick Swayze wants to do as to cover that part of his life when he had to fight the pancreatic cancer which almost killed him.

Next week, the actor will meet the publisher to discuss further notices about the project. He also wants to involve his wife, Lisa Swayze, to co-write the book with him, as she had been there for him all the way. Swayze was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2008, but along with time, he managed to fight it and become a stronger man.

The 56-year-old told Barbara Walters that fear is all that’s happening with him. He admitted his anger and him being scared, but besides these facts, Swayze also said that the word hell is the best to describe the state he is in. “And I've only seen the beginning of it,” he added.

Swayze experienced a lot of difficult moments, including his thoughts of dying. He said that he didn’t know what is on the other side, but that this is best thing to test everything he believes in.

Best-known for the romantic characters of “Dirty Dancing,” in which he played in 1987 and “Ghost” from 1990, Swayze received a lot of Golden Globe nominations. In 1991, he was voted as “Sexiest Man Alive” by People magazine, but everything started to go down beginning January 2008. Diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, Swayze fought it since the beginning and is now the lead of a new A&E television series, “The Beast,” which started airing on January 15, 2009.

He has been married to Lisa Niemi since 1975. They first met in 1970 when she was only 16 years old and taking dance lessons from the actor’s mother. Yet, after Swayze’s father died in 1982 because of a heart attack, the now 56-year-old started drinking heavily.

He began seeking treatment for alcoholism after his sister’s death in 1994. Swayze managed to recover at first and moved to ranches in California and Las Vegas to breed Arabian horses as to end his cure.

On June 2000, he had been involved in a plane crash under his license. After the aircraft developed a pressurization problem over northern Arizona, Swayze landed in a housing complex in Prescott Valley, but got away unharmed. Yet, reports showed back then that the actor was extremely intoxicated and asked for the help of removing the evidence.

After all the hard times he had been going through, Swayze has followed several spiritual traditions. He studied the Buddhism and Scientology after being brought up a Roman Catholic.
