Friday, Patrick Swayze’s publicist stated that the actor had been released from the hospital, one week after he had checked himself in suffering from pneumonia.
Publicist Annett Wolf did not offer further information concerning Swayze’s condition, adding only that his health had allowed him to be released and that he was resting at his home in Los Angeles.
On January 9, the actor checked himself into a hospital after he had contracted pneumonia, while for the last year, he has been fighting pancreatic cancer.
Last March, 56-year-old Patrick Swayze announced he was suffering from a deadly type of cancer, leaving many to believe that he had only a few weeks left to live, but at that time, his doctors informed that his condition was not that bad.
Recently, Swayze has been working on „The Beast” drama series, which premiered this week on A&E. Producers revealed that they had learned about the actor’s pancreatic cancer after the A&E had accepted to take on broadcasting the television show. Moreover, they said that all the episodes from the first season had been filmed and that they hoped Patrick Swayze could also work on the show’s second season, portraying an FBI veteran who trains a rookie partner played by Travis Fimmel.
Patrick Swayze is best known for his roles in „Dirty Dancing” and „Ghost,” which earned him Golden Globe nominations, as well as for his appearances in „To Wong Foo” and „Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar.”
