Hotel heiress Paris Hilton dabbles in movie-making once more, this time as a devoted friend willing to sacrifice her own love life, in the romantic comedy “The Hottie and the Nottie,” scheduled for a February 2008 release.
Paris Hilton has signed on to play Cristabel “Hottie” Abbott in the upcoming Regent Releasing flick about two best friends, according to MTV.com. While Hilton will play the sexually appealing friend, Christine Lakin will portray June “Nottie” Phigg, the friend Mother Nature was less generous with in terms of looks.
The story of the movie seems very appropriate for Valentine’s Day, since it is supposed to hit theaters on February 8, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The Hottie is the object of affection of a young Nate Cooper (Joel David Moore), who has had a crush on her since the first grade. The story goes that she refuses to give him a chance unless he finds a date for her ugly-duckling friend, the Nottie.
Christine Lakin told MTV: “I truly look like a cavewoman in this film. I had moles, acne and a unibrow! I was balding!” She also revealed that the role gave her a lot of trouble, as she had to undergo two hours of make-up and prosthetics each day before shooting began.
Lakin was nevertheless humorous about the situation. “That damn mole would never stay on my face,” she said. “We’d be in the middle of something, and I’d say to her [Paris] ‘Oh God, my mole is gone!’ and then it’d be on her clothes somewhere.”
Paris Hilton filmed the project during January and February, E! Online reports. The movie, directed by Tony Putnam, is expected to be a perfect comedy dedicated to lovers on their special day.
Paris is keeping busy these days, as she is also planning to work on a new album and, as Access Hollywood reports, another film. “Repo! The Genetic Opera” is scheduled for a 2008 release.
Joel David Moore previously played “Cooter” in “Dukes of Hazard: The Beginning,” while Christine Lakin is known for her role on the 1990s ABC situation comedy “Step by Step.”
Paris Hilton appeared in 2005’s horror remake “House of Wax,” alongside Elisha Cuthbert and Chad Michael Murray.
