Paris Hilton and Benji Madden almost had people convinced they were right for each other with all their lovey-dovey appearances and love declarations, until just days ago when the two have definitely broken up, according to multiple reputable sources.

It hasn't been that long since Paris gushed about Benji calling him the love of her life and all the babies she wanted to have right away with him. Although saddened by the split, it was Paris who put an end to the 9-month romance claiming Benji was too controlling and she wanted her freedom back. The Good Charlotte rocker was said to be fairly upset about it.

"Paris was fed up with Benji always telling her what to do and bossing her around," a source told Star Magazine. "She couldn’t take his overbearing ways anymore. It was stressing her out. He can be very aggressive and he was just too much trouble."

"He fought for a second chance and asked if they could talk it out but Paris said she was done talking," the source added.
 
Another source told People magazine that the two are "too different and they wanted different things in life," and even though things appeared to be going well between the two, "it was time to take a break." A rep for Paris Hilton told Page Six that the pair "remain very good friends."

First rumors about a possible breakup emerged online after the heiress was spotted in the company of her famous ex-boyfriend Stavros Niarchos in Miami over the weekend. The starlet was at Liv nightclub in the rebuilt Fontainebleau hotel "with all her BFFs from the show, [My New BFF]" when she ran into her former flame. Even though onlookers said the two were simply engaged in a close but friendly conversation, when pictures of Paris coyly whispering into Niarchos' ear surfaced online, Madden was not too happy to about them.

 "In no way are they romantic, nor do they want to get back together," the source added.

Soon after the split was announced, Paris and Benji were spotted partying separately in L.A.. The 27-year-old hit L.A.'s Crown Bar with her pals from the show while an unsmiling Madden, briefly hit up Bardot, a Hollywood club. On Tuesday, Paris was at Apple Lounge while Benji was at Coco DeVille with his twin brother Joel and Nicole Richie. And Monday, the Hilton sisters karaoked at Villa while Benji hung at the Key Club.

Now rumors are rife regarding the real reason behind the couple's sudden split suggesting Benji was jealous of Paris’ empty flirting relationship with Prince William.

According to Foxnews, Paris and Benji had just sealed a rumored six-figure deal to spend New Year’s Eve in Australia attending the launch party for a new social online networking system, Bongo Virus. The heiress was slated to host the party while Benji would have served as a DJ. However, sources from the Australian company said that Prince William might have had plans to meet up with Paris to ring in the New Year, after becoming close friends during Paris' time in London where she’s been filming her reality show.
