Marvel is the creator of the world’s boldest superheroes,
Iron Man, Wolverine and the X-Men gang, The Incredible Hulk, Spiderman and
others; marvel comic book enthusiasts should feel safe knowing they’re in such
good company and they should also be aware that Marvel Studios prolonged its
contract with Paramount. After the fantastic success of Iron Man, extending
their contract seemed to be the logical choice.
The people at Marvel were very
pleased with the professionalism the company managed to distribute the movie,
making it a box office success.
Superhero movies have become closer to reality, trying to
deal with social problems and also making the super powered heroes more human.
Marvel announced the release of Iron Man 2 (May 7, 2010), Thor (July 16, 2010),
Captain America
(2011), The Avengers (2011) and have also announced that Iron Man 3 will see
the light of day, though the release date cannot be specified. All of these
movies are to be distributed worldwide by Paramount Pictures, including in key
markets such as Japan, France, Germany,
Spain, Australia and New Zealand.
The new agreement Marvel has with Paramount states that the
distributing company will now benefit from 8% of the movies’ profits, instead
of the 10% they had with Iron
Man. And because we’re talking
numbers, you should know that Iron Man’s worldwide success cashed in about $300
million at the domestic box office, making the newly signed contract a sure win
for both parties.
Buckle up and prepare to be amazed! Whether you’re a
superhero admirer, who has always dreamed to fight crime and the forces of evil
as the sidekick of some comic book ultra man, or just somebody looking for some
action packed movies, worry no more! Marvel has in store some great movies for
you and Paramount
will deliver!
