Parallels Releases RC of Desktop For Mac 3.0

If you have a Mac, but you want to run other OSs beside Mac OS X, one of the best solutions available is Paralells’ Desktop for Mac. The company has just announced the release candidate of the third version of the software and after few weeks of beta testing the final Desktop for Mac 3.0 will be launched.

The new version offers SmartSelect, a tool that can be used to open any file from Windows or OS X with any program from either OS. Also, thanks to another integrated tool, Coherence, users may run Windows applications like native Mac applications on OS X.

"The release of Desktop for Mac 3.0 represents another opportunity to help computer users get the best of all operating systems on a single, seamless desktop," said Benjamin Rudolph, Director of Corporate Communications, Parallels. "We look forward to feedback on the important new features like SmartSelect, 3D graphics, and Snapshots as we prepare for the full launch very soon."

The retail price of the new software will be $79.99, but the upgrade from earlier version is only $49.99.
