Panasonic Announces Three New Cameras

The electronics maker Panasonic extend its line of Lumix cameras with one new model and introduced two new compact digital cameras.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 is an ultra-zoom camera with 18x optical zoom and 28-504mm LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens.

The camera features also 2.5 inch LCD screen with 207,000 pixels resolution, 188,000 pixels Electric Viewfinder, six auto-focusing methods, advanced scene modes and extra optical zoom power of up to 28.7x at 3 megapixels. The pictures taken with Lumix DMC-FZ18 can be stored on the 27 MB built-in memory.

In addition DMC-FZ18 incorporates an Intelligent Scene Selector which can select the appropriate scene mode like Portrait, Scenery, Macro, or Night Mode,

With a Face detection System that enables the camera to detect up to 15 human faces, Lumix DMC-FZ18 is the ideal camera taking photos of a large group of people.

In order to eliminate the handshake effects, Lumix DMC-FZ18 offers Panasonic's Intelligent Image Stabilization technologies.

The DMC-FX55 and DMC-FX33, both digital cameras have 8.1 megapixels and 3.6x optical zoom and they also offer Intelligent Auto Mode. Similar to DMC-FZ 18, both FX-55 and FX-33 integrates an earlier Panasonic’s technology called Intelligent ISO, which increases the camera's sensitivity to try to deal with moving subjects.

The DMC-FX55 has a 3" LCD and it will sell for $349. The model is available in three colors: silver, black and pink. The other one, DMC-FX33, has only a 2.5" LCD and the price set by Panasonic is $299.
