Tommy Lee and Kid Rock gave a small performance of their own at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, albeit impromptu, apparently over ex-wife Pamela Anderson.

Pamela Anderson was present Sunday night at the MTV Video Music Awards ceremony in Las Vegas and so were her two former husbands, rockers Tommy Lee and Kid Rock.

Perhaps it was a time bomb waiting to explode and the musical event was just the place for it, because the two got into a little brawl and were separated by security guards.

It’s not clear yet if Pam was the reason of their discontentment, but rap producer Rich Nice apparently witnessed the sequence of events. According to him, Tommy started the fight and Kid Rock ended it.

“It looked like Tommy Lee initiated it because Kid Rock was ignoring him,” Rich Nice said. “And Tommy Lee kind of antagonized him. And then when Tommy Lee stood up, it looked a little weird, like, ‘Yo, what?’”

Then Kid Rock finally paid attention to the Mötley Crüe drummer, by backhanding him. “And then Tommy Lee looked like he was trying to get at him to aggressively retaliate and then Kid Rock hits Tommy Lee again -- bong.

“And then security grabs Tommy Lee in a headlock and pulls him off.” The drummer was taken out while the rapper/rocker remained for the rest of the event.

Stars aware of the fistfight seemed to enjoy the incident. Diddy said, “It's not just the hip-hop artists that sometimes have problems,” while actor Jamie Foxx mused, “Stop all this white-on-white violence.”

Kid Rock is in a bit of trouble now as a result of his altercation with Tommy. He has been cited for misdemeanor battery, Las Vegas police said. He was not taken into custody, according to TMZ.

The celebrity gossip Web site also reports that Kid Rock could face up to six months in jail, according to Officer Bill Cassell, though it is not highly likely that he would receive such a lengthy sentence.

Pamela and Tommy were married for several years during the 1990s and have two sons together. The sex symbol divorced Kid Rock earlier this year, after a short-lived marriage.
