Nine months after its official launch, Palm Centro will be made available to the Verizon Wireless subscribers. Palm’s smartphone was released last year in September as a Sprint exclusive and earlier this year the company has signed up another distributor, AT&T.

Centro has a touch screen capable to display 64K colors at 320 X 320 pixels and it integrates also a 1.3 Megapixel camera with 2X digital zoom that can handle video. According to Palm, Centro’s battery offers 3.5 hours of talk time.

Centro is ideal for those who like to have a full QWERTY keyboard to type their messages. Plus, Centro keeps all your conversations in a chat-style view, just like IM, so you can see the entire conversation unfold. The Palm Centro offers direct access direct access to Yahoo, Windows Live Messenger or AOL's AIM service.

Centro comes with the Palm OS, it offers all of the great organizer functionality that Palm is renowned for, such as a detailed and integrated Contacts list. Also, the simple and handy calendar makes it easier to manage increasingly busy lives, whether it’s juggling business meetings or keeping track of school activities.

Centro is recommended also for those who want a easy mobile email solution as the phone uses Microsoft Direct Push Technology for delivery of Outlook email as well as personal email, such as Gmail, AOL and Yahoo.

Palm, a revolutionary smartphone developer, has been left behind by rivals such as RIM or Apple that managed to make a significant impact on the market through the Blackberry and the iPhone. What Palm is trying to do is appeal to as many customers as possible, and offer the most of a smartphone at an affordable cost.

However, Palm Centro is the fastest selling smartphone in Palm's history, as the company has managed to sell one million units since its launch.
