Nine months after its official launch, Palm Centro will be
made available to the Verizon Wireless subscribers. Palm’s smartphone was
released last year in September as a Sprint exclusive and earlier this year the
company has signed up another distributor, AT&T.
According to Verizon Wireless, the customers who choose a
two year contract will spene only $99 for a Palm Centro.
The phone can be used also as a modem for the laptop by
those customers who will to Verizon Wireless' BroadbandAccess Connect service
plan
Palm Centro is powered by an XScale processor and it comes
equipped with 128MB of ROM and 64MB of user-accessible RAM. Centro has a touch
screen capable to display 64K colors at 320 X 320 pixels and it integrates also
a 1.3 Megapixel camera with 2X digital zoom that can handle video. According to
Palm, Centro’s battery offers 3.5 hours of talk time.
Centro is ideal for those who like to have a full QWERTY
keyboard to type their messages. Plus, Centro keeps all your conversations in a
chat-style view, just like IM, so you can see the entire conversation unfold.
The Palm Centro offers direct access direct access to Yahoo, Windows Live
Messenger or AOL's AIM service.
Centro comes with the Palm OS, it offers all of the great
organizer functionality that Palm is renowned for, such as a detailed and
integrated Contacts list. Also, the simple and handy calendar makes it easier
to manage increasingly busy lives, whether it’s juggling business meetings or

email solution as the phone uses Microsoft Direct Push Technology for delivery
