During the Republican
Governors Association meeting that was held Tuesday, November 11, GOP’s nominee
for vice-president in this year’s elections Sarah Palin told the Republicans to
oversee the new United States
administration’s actions, in order to prevent the Democrats from taking
dishonest measures.
At a session focusing on „Looking Towards the Future: The
GOP in Transition,” Palin said that the Republican Party, which is currently in
search for a makeover of their political directions, had become the minority
party, urging though her fellow colleagues to help the GOP steer clear of
coming to be the negative party.
Although Sarah Palin did not clearly mention
president-elect of the U.S. Barack Obama, she was not able to restrain from alluding
to him by criticizing his common practice of voting „present” the time he was an
Illinois state lawmaker.
Moreover, when addressing the Republicans during the Tuesday
meeting, the Alaska governor stated that it was vital for the GOP to make sure
that new administration did not render the health care system to be taken over
by the federal government, adding that Republicans had to be the ones to show
the Democrats the right way when it came to health care taxes.
After Republican
presidential nominee John McCain, along with running-mate Sarah Palin lost the
elections on November 4 to Democrat Barack Obama, rumor had it that Palin would
be running for president of the United States in the 2012 elections.
Nevertheless,
when asked whether she was considering running for president, Palin said that
the GOP’s priorities were the budget and the reforms for the following year,
while her candidacy was not a main focus at that moment.
