There have been some rumors concerning the launch of the improved version of Sony’s PSP, the PSP 4000. The new gadget will supposedly correct the flaws present in the PSP 3000 model, problems like interlacing and ergonomic issues.
There is still no official news concerning the official release of the PSP 2, though many believe that the next member of Sony’s portable console family will appear after the release of the PSP 4000. There have also been rumors suggesting that game developers have already started on working on PSP 2 games, though this is not known for sure.
The PSP is a reliable piece of device which has been progressively modified by Sony, solving problems and unfortunately creating others. The first PSP was heavy and big, but had good life battery. After this, Sony started scaling down the portable console, making it look more refined, but also compromising in battery life.
The PSP 3000 started solving all the issues the previous models had by having a more powerful screen, making the device operable in strong sunlight. Unfortunately this lead to another problem called interlacing. At some moments when playing a game, little black lines could be clearly visible on the screen, which is annoying, given that the PSP doesn’t really excel in terms of graphics.
The PSP 4000 should fix all these problems, and if it will really be launched in late 2009, it would give gamers a good reason to save some money and buy the new and improved portable console.
