An ad that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) hoped to air during the Superbowl was reportedly rejected by the NBC. The spot is called "Veggie Love" and depicts hot women in skimpy clothes having their way with various plant foods.
The Super Bowl is known for having the most expensive, most creative and sexiest commercials, some even concerning rather cintroversial subjects and therefore it takes a lot to offend whoever approves the content of Super Bowl adverts.

Moreover in recent years we’ve seen a homesexual kiss and, most gruesomely of all, Kevin Federline rapping, but PETA seems to have pulled it off eventually.

Concerning this year’s rejection, PETA spokesperson Michael McGraw told Access Hollywood that, “the bottom line for this ad was that studies show that vegetarians have better sex” and that NBC sent PETA an email explicitly stating things that would need to be removed from the commercial in order for it to be aired.

This year's broadcaster, NBC, is getting $3 million for a 30-second spot, an 11% increase over 2008. Struggling General Motors may be sitting on the sidelines this year (though the company is maintaining a pre-game and post-game presence), but traditional Super Bowl marketers like Anheuser-Busch, Coca-Cola, Monster.com and PepsiCo. are happy to fill the holes.

Companies peddling beer and soda don't face the same potential backlash over Super Bowl spending that a bailed-out automaker would, Bob Dorfman of Baker Street Partners, a San Francisco advertising agency notes. What viewer wants to see his tax dollars being poured into a $3 million Super Bowl spot?
