In a statement issued by his publicist for Reuters Owen
Wilson, the famous actor and comedian, asked for privacy. "I respectfully
ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult
time," Wilson
said.
Though, his publicist Ina Treciokas declined to comment on
the incident or to elaborate on his health condition, Reuters noted.
Earlier today the media reported that the star of Zoolander
and Wedding Crashers, has been hospitalized, after an incident, which seems to
be a suicide attempt.
According to magazines and gossip websites, Owen Wilson was taken
to the St John's hospital in Santa Monica, California.
The reports said he had cut his left
wrist and taken an indeterminate amount of pills and arrived at hospital in very
serious condition, but hospital officials declined to comment on his condition.
Later he was transferred to Cedar-Sinai
Hospital, where Cynthia Harding, a hospital
spokeswoman, confirmed Wilson
is in good condition
Meanwhile, the suicide attempt wasn’t confirmed by any of Wilson’s reps and,
according to some media reports such as New York Daily News, the star was taken
to the hospital last night for dehydration.
Owen Wilson was currently filming “Tropic Thunder,” a comedy
directed by actor and friend Ben Stiller.
The two have worked together before: “Meet the Parents,”
“The Royal Tenenbaums,” "Zoolander” and “Night at the Museum” are just a
few of the projects they have collaborated on.
Owen Wilson received an Academy Award nomination for his
work on the screenplay for “The Royal Tenenbaums.”
