There are no more doubts surrounding Owen Wilson’s alleged suicide two days ago, when police were called to his home over an "attempt suicide."
According to the Santa Monica Police Daily Reports, the emergency call made from Wilson’s home on August 26 at 12:08 p.m. was classified as an "attempt suicide," television show Extra reported after obtaining the phone logs.
Wilson was rushed to St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica and later transferred to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he’s been listed in "good condition." He was reportedly found by his younger brother, Luke, bleeding and dizzy afterhaving slit his wrists and taken a substantial amount of pills.
Reasons for his foolish act are still a mystery but rumors are that his breakup from actress Kate Hudson has been really harsh on him. Other reports name a recent "vicious quarrel" with a friend as the main cause that lead to his attempt.
Whatever the cause may be, it’s good to know he’s got the support of his family and friends who were spotted visiting him at the hospital, including his brother Andrew and Samuel L. Jackson who picked on the photographers around the hospital’s building.
"I came to visit Owen Wilson, get away from me. Why are you guys here?" he lashed out at them.
In a brief statement made on Monday, the 39-year-old actor asked for some privacy saying: "I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time."
Several movie projects are eagerly waiting for Wilson to get better, including the comedy "Tropic Thunder" which is scheduled to be released next summer, and "Marley and Me" in which Wilson is scheduled to star alongside actress Jennifer Aniston.
Dreamworks, which will be releasing "Tropic Thunder," said work on the film was ongoing. "Filming on ‘Tropic Thunder’ continues," the company said.
A spokesman for 20th Century Fox meanwhile brushed off questions about "Marley and Me" saying "It’s totally inappropriate at this time when all of our thoughts and concerns are with his health and well-being," a spokesman told Variety.
